Kaplan also noted how the artists working on the PvE focused entry were "heartbroken" when leakers began uploading low-quality screenshots: When the Overwatch 2 leaks started to happen, immediate worries raised by the community were in regards to progression and cosmetics carrying across – along with how a sequel could potentially divide the game's playerbase.
That's the part that bothers us the most, where people are not given all the information and all of the context that they need to understand what we're doing. When you're trying so hard to deliver something for somebody and to have it be spoiled in a way that's not coherent. In a follow-up interview with Kotaku Australia, Overwatch lead designer Jeff Kaplan expressed how leaks can be "extremely demoralising" for developers and explained how lack of context can often result in worst-case scenario concerns:
Speaking of Diablo II, the classic Blizzard RPG could also be due for a remaster.Like many other BlizzCon 2019 announcements this weekend, the Overwatch 2 one was leaked ahead of the opening ceremony. Insider sources have also been relaying details such as a grittier tone and an overall shift back towards Diablo II. A recent advert in German gaming mag, GameStar, specifically mentions Diablo 4 in an advert for an upcoming art book for the series. The dungeon crawling sequel was allegedly due to appear during Blizzcon 2018 but was pulled last minute. Meanwhile, Diablo 4 is also likely to make its grand debut. Aside from the appearance of Echo (presumably the next upcoming hero) there’s nothing that screams Overwatch 2 here apart from the image URL which reads “ow2-fine-art-gallery.png”. This was followed by leaked artwork via the official Blizzard gear store. This suggests that there will be a playable build of Blizzard’s new co-op PvE mode, an expansion to the core multiplayer game that has been rumoured for some time. So what can we expect to see at this year’s show? Up top we have Overwatch 2 which was first leaked via demo guide instructions obtained by ESPN.
